Hello everyone!

I was really surprised to find that there wasn't a community set up for Benjamin Britten's music, as I think he is a great composer.

I've liked him for a long time now, but it wasn't until my mum sang in his oratorio Paul Bunyan that I really became obssessed!

So, post here anything you like; discussions, trivia or simple gushing about how wonderful he is!

Wow! A Britten community. I'm amazed :) Pleasantly of course.
Paul Bunyan was one of the first operas I ever performed in: I sang Fido at age 17 in a school production and had an great time. I especially liked that the animals (me and the cats) weren't expected to just stand and smile while the principals were singing but could chase each other round the stage and generally do our best to steal the limelight.
Aww, that sounds like so much fun! I don't think I've ever sung any Britten. *sob* At least, not as a public performance! I sing him to myself all the time.
